Likely offender identified

1 min read

Police investigating a series of Post Shop robberies in and around Auckland over the past month believe the offender responsible is Steven Kurt Peri, a 28 year-old Maori who speaks with a distinctive Canadian accent. There is a warrant for his arrest.

Avondale CIB believe Mr Peri has got away with thousands of dollars from Post Shops in Royal Heights, Massey, Pt Chevalier and Khyber Pass since August 13 after handing notes demanding money to tellers and advising them he had a gun in his possession that he was prepared to use.

Detective Sergeant Geoff Baber of Avondale CIB says Mr Peri is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Detective Sergeant Geoff BABER of the Avondale CIB on 09 820 5781 and 027 486 0947.

Peri is a Maori of thin to medium build who stands about 186cm tall. He has short, dark hair and is generally cleanshaven, though he does sport a goatee from time-to-time. He wears prescription glasses.
