1 min read

Two people are in hospital and a male will appear in court this afternoon after a fight amongst a group last night.

A group of two / three car loads was drinking at a local hotel in Addington last night from where they went on to a house in Halswell.

In the early hours of this morning at the house there was an altercation between a 33 year old male and a 37 year old male which resulted in a woman receiving facial injuries and the 37 year old man being stabbed in his abdomen and chest.

Both were taken to hospital by ambulance. The male's injuries are believed to be life threatening and he is currently being examined as to the extent of his injuries says DSS John RAE.

The 38 year old female has been treated and her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The 33 year old male has been charged with one charge of wounding with intent causing GBH and one charge of injuring and will appear in the Christchurch District Court this afternoon at 2.15pm.
