Four males have been arrested by the Operation Hammer team and charged with the burglary of a Christchurch city electrical suppliers last Saturday night.
Sergeant Phil Dean says that copper cable to the value of approximately $20 thousand value was taken. Some copper has been recovered but much is still outstanding.
"We're still missing some very large cable drums with the copper cable which may now have been stripped of its plastic covering," he says. "We know that there is more out there and we are appealing to scrap metal dealers to assist us recover it."
Sergeant Dean asks that any one with any information or who knows the whereabouts of the cable to contact him. This can be confidentially by phoning police on 363 7400 or Sergeant Dean directly on phone 363 7435.
The four males aged 36, 38, 41 and 42 years appeared in court yesterday and today and all have been remanded in custody.
