Focus of fire investigation today
Detective Inspector Greg Williams say the focus of the investigation into the deaths of the four people at Puriri Street is to establish what happened last Sunday night/ Monday morning.
"They were last seen alive at 10.30pm on Sunday 1 April when a family friend who had had a meal with them left. The Fire service arrived at 7.20am on Monday morning and the four were located dead. We need to find out what happened during those hours," he says.
Greg Williams says it is a difficult time for the family with the amount of speculation, especially that this is a murder suicide.
"We have not established exactly how the four people died yet. The examination of the house must be very careful and will take probably two more days to complete," he says. "We need public help to solve this. Anyone who has had business dealing with the Tomonagas or whose friends they were is asked to contact us."
