Homicide Investigation Continues in West Auckland

1 min read

Waitakere CIB detectives are at the scene of a double homicide which has occurred at a residential property in West Auckland.

Police went to the scene in Kervil Avenue, Te Atatu Peninsula at about 5.30pm yesterday Saturday 14 October 2006. On arrival they discovered the body of a female aged in her 40's in a bedroom of the house at the address. The woman was deceased.

The body of a male aged in his 50's was also discovered at the same address. The body was inside a vehicle in a garage on the property. The man is also deceased. Police maintained a guard on the property overnight.

A detailed scene examination and area canvas of neighbours in the locality are among the major activities for investigators today. This will be a lengthy process for police as there are several scenes both inside the house and in the garage to examine fully.

Enquiries with friends and families of the two deceased will also continue.

Police say it is too early in the investigation to determine the exact cause of death to the two deceased, and whether or not any weapon has been used.

Police will not comment on media speculation that the two deceased were in a previous relationship. A post mortem examination is scheduled tomorrow.
