Constable Blair Atkinson of the North Shore Serious Crash Units says there were a number of witnesses to this tragic incident, and the public responded superbly at the scene.

"Three drivers used their vehicles to block off the road, while some members of the public used CPR in an attempt to resuscitate the deceased," said Mr. Atkinson.

Constable Atkinson asks those present at the scene to contact him at the North Shore Serious Crash Unit at Takapuna Police, on 09-481-0345.

The Serious Crash Unit is continuing their investigations. Police extend their sympathy and thoughts to all parties involved in this tragic event.
