Superintendent George Fraser, Southern District Commander and Dunedin Operation Commander said Prince Charles arrived safely in Dunedin last night and has a full day of engagements throughout today.
"He will be attending a morning service at 1030am at the Cathedral of St Paul before visiting the Royal Albatross Centre at Tairoa Head at about midday.
"We advise that care will be needed by anyone traveling the Otago Peninsula road as traffic flow will be heavier than usual, and a reminder is also issued that the Royal Albatross Centre will be closed to the public until approximately 3.30pm.
"We have made every effort to keep any disruption to a minimum," said Superintendent Fraser.
Tomorrow Prince Charles will visit a Central Otago sheep station before flying to Wellington late in the afternoon.
