Police at Wanganui are awaiting the result of a Post Mortem examination to establish the cause of death of an 83 yr old Marton woman that was discovered by family in her flat yesterday morning.
Detective Sergeant Stu Nightingale said that once a cause of death has been established more information will become available which will determine the course of the enquiry.
The post mortem is being conducted in Wellington this afternoon.
