Police are continuing to appeal to members of the public for information on an incident in Dome Valley yesterday morning where a woman was found on the side of a road with serious head injuries.
We would like to thank the media and members of the public who called Police, they provided vital information which led to her identification.
As a result, her family have been contacted and are now at her bedside in Auckland Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Whilst we appreciate that there is on-going interest in the incident, our priority is to ensure a thorough and robust investigation and for that reason we are unable to comment on any specific lines of enquiry at this stage.
Police focus is now on establishing the circumstances which led to the victim receiving her injuries, and providing support to her family.
We ask anyone who saw anything in the Dome Valley area on Sunday evening through to Monday morning which may be of interest to the investigation team to contact Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby at Orewa Police Station on 09 426 4555.
Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
