Wellington Police would like any members of the public with information about the fires lit on the Mt Victoria green belt last week to contact them.
On Thursday 12th November at approximately 7:30pm a fire was lit near the badminton hall on Ruahine Street.
Two more fires were started on Friday 13th November at 7:30 in the morning just off the Mt Victoria walking tracks about 500m north of the SPCA. The track leads from Alexandra Road down to Pirie Street.
Thankfully, due to quick notification by members of the public, the fires were reported to the fire service and extinguished quickly causing only minor damage.
