Police continue to search for those responsible for the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in Puriri Street, Castlecliff yesterday morning.
A scene examination is underway and extra officers remain in the area.
Police are still in the process of speaking to Puriri Street residents and cordons will likely remain in place until later today or tomorrow.
The investigation is ongoing but we would like to remind the public that the victim and offenders were known to one another and Police, so there is no cause for alarm.
As we continue to investigate, we urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to call Whanganui Police on 06 349 0600.
