Wellington Police looking for information about suspicious activity in public park

Wellington Police are investigating reports of suspicious activity in a public park above the northern entrance of the Terrace Tunnel in Wellington.  The park is accessed off The Terrace and is used commonly as a dog exercise area.

Police received information that two people were seen digging in a section of the park around  5.00 pm yesterday and were possibly there on other occasions.  When police searched the area they discovered an area of the park that had been damaged as a result of being dug up and located two shovels concealed in bushes nearby.

Police are seeking the public’s help with any information that may identify those responsible for causing the damage to the public park.
