At 11:04am on Friday 26 June 2015, Wellington Police were called to an address in Northland after a woman was assaulted and threatened with what appeared to be a firearm.
Armed Police located the woman at the Northland address and she was taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked.
The man suspected of assaulting her had left the scene, but was tracked to an address in Island Bay.
This address was cordoned by armed police and the man and two associates were called out of the address and taken into custody without incident.
Senior Sergeant Braydon Lenihan of the Wellington Police says that this was an isolated incident between people that are known to each other and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Enquiries are ongoing with charges yet to be determined.
