Waitemata Police have tonight arrested and charged a man with the homicide of 69 year-old Cun Xiu Tian.
The 19 year-old Te Atatu man has been charged with the following;
- Murder
- Sexual violation x 2
He will appear in the Waitakere District Court tomorrow morning.
“I know that the arrest will bring some relief to the Te Atatu and wider community and we’d like to thank the public for their support and assistance over the past six days” says Detective Senior Sergeant Roger Small, Waitemata Police.
The family of Madam Tian have been advised of the arrest and are being supported by Police and Victim Support.
Whilst Police appreciate the widespread interest that the arrest will generate, the matter is now before the courts and we are mindful not to prejudice the court process in any way. For this reason, no further information is now able to be released.
