The incident near the Terrace Tunnel in Wellington is still ongoing.
Police continue speaking to the man involved and are working hard to safely resolve the situation.
The Terrace Tunnel remains closed in both directions, which is causing extensive delays for traffic in the area.
We would like to thank the public for their ongoing patience.
We are unable to say when the tunnel may re-open at this time and advise motorists to take alternative routes.
