Motorists on SH1 between Kapiti and Wellington are being advised to drive with extreme caution following a diesel spill.
All motorists both north and south bound are being asked to reduce their speeds.
SH1 northbound remains at a standstill between Plimmerton and Paekakariki following a crash just after 6pm this evening. One person injured in the crash is being taken to hospital by helicopter with serious injuries while four other people have been taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.
