Police are continuing to search for a missing 24-year-old man off Piha Beach.
Sadly, we have now moved into a recovery phase of this operation.
Weather has hampered efforts to search the area this morning, however Eagle helicopter is currently out searching along with Surf Lifesaving which is undertaking an on-water search.
We are supporting the victim’s family during this time and our thoughts are with them.
