Police investigations are continuing.
Canterbury Police and the other emergency services that attended the scene would like to extend their condolences to Jayde’s family.
Jayde’s family have asked for privacy but have provided the statement below and photograph attached for media to use in any story they choose to run.
Statement on behalf of Jayde’s family
The visit from Police early in the morning yesterday, telling us Jayde has been seriously injured in a crash, still seems surreal. It’s the visit every family dreads but the news got even worse in hospital when you went to sleep for the last time. Jayde we still cannot believe that you’re not coming home. We love you Jayde and will miss you more than you’ll ever know.
We’ll celebrate your life at a private funeral for your friends and family.
We understand there is public interest whenever someone is lost in tragic circumstances, but ask that the media respect our privacy. Our emotions are very raw and we ask that reporters do not attend Jayde’s funeral.
We’d like to thank our friends, family, Police and the wider community for their support and understanding.
