The closure of State Highway 1 between Paekakariki and Grays Road at Mana remains in place. The NZ Transport Agency plans to provide an update by 2pm.
A diversion is in place over Paekakariki Hill Road for cars and other small vehicles; however it is not suitable for heavy vehicles or campervans. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Many people likely had plans to travel north today, so we ask people to please consider their plans and alternate options. We also ask people to be patient and safe on the road at all times.
Note: today’s planned road closure of Paekakariki Hill Road has been cancelled.
