A search has resumed for two rafters who went missing on the Hutt River.
Police were contacted last night at 8.41pm when a party of nine people on inflatable rafts got into difficulty while on a private trip.
One person raised the alarm, six were rescued by helicopter, and another two people remain outstanding.
A helicopter is this morning flying over tree lines to look for the pair along the top end of the river, while land-based teams are searching bush.
Police are co-ordinating the search for the man and woman, with support from Wellington LandSAR and community rescue and response groups.
