A woman found critically injured in a paddock near Morley Rd in Waiuku this morning remains in a critical condition at Auckland Hospital, and is undergoing surgery today.
Police enquiries are continuing into the exact circumstances around what has occurred, and how the woman has been injured.
Inspector Mark Rowbottom says Police are appealing for sightings of the woman’s car, which was found near the paddock and with no one inside.
The car is an older-model white Subaru Legacy station wagon with the registration FDP494.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen this car between 6pm last night and 6am this morning, either in the Waiuku area or in the surrounding South Auckland areas,” says Inspector Rowbottom.
“Our investigation is still in its early stages and we are also trying to piece together the circumstances of how she came to be in the paddock and how she sustained her injuries.
“We can confirm that this incident is not linked to a Police call out to another incident in Waiuku last night,” says Inspector Rowbottom.
