Two men have been arrested following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle across several areas of Auckland this morning.
The pursuit began shortly before 9am near Papakura when a Police patrol spotted a Mitsubishi Lancer which had been stolen from New Windsor the previous evening.
Police were forced to abandon the pursuit as the vehicle travelled at high speed through residential parts of Mt Roskill and Blockhouse Bay. The Police helicopter was used to continue tracking the vehicle which then had the tyres spiked and was eventually abandoned near the Blockhouse Bay shops.
Two men aged 17 and 20 were arrested nearby.
Police say a quantity of stolen goods was also found in the car.
