Canterbury Police are investigating four offences where hunting gear has been stolen. This includes two burglaries at Twin Needles on 20 December 2015 and 10 January 2016 and two recent shoplifting offences at Gun City on 10 January 2016 and Hunting and Fishing on 11 January 2016.
Detective Inspector Tony Hill says at this stage there is nothing to suggest that any of these offences are connected or have been committed by the same offenders. “Equipment that can be used for hunting can be expensive and is often an item targeted by thieves.”
Police encourage anyone who is offered hunting equipment, or sees items for sale on line, at prices too good to be true to contact Police straight away by calling 03 363 7400.
Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-nz.org
