Christchurch Police were this evening called to a residential address at Wainoni Road following the sudden death of a two-year-old infant.
Police are supporting the family of the deceased child and are investigating the death on behalf of the Coroner. Police will maintain a presence at the house overnight and will continue their inquiries tomorrow morning.
A further release may be made at that time.
