Late last night (16 February 2015) New Zealand Police were advised by the New South Wales Police that they had located the $150k yacht stolen from Whangarei last week in Sydney Harbour.
New South Wales Police located two people on board, Paul BENNETT and Simone WRIGHT, who have been evading the New Zealand Police since May 2014. BENNETT and WRIGHT are both sought in relation to a Warrant To Arrest in New Zealand.
New Zealand and New South Wales Police investigations are continuing.
It is too early to comment on whether BENNETT and WRIGHT will be extradited to New Zealand or what charges, if any, will be laid in Australia.
A further update will be provided once the investigations have progressed further.
