SH2 at Apata, Tauranga has re-opened following a serious crash this evening.
The crash happened just before 6pm this evening and involved two cars in a head on collision after one of the vehicles crossed the centre line.
As a result of the crash three people were taken to Tauranga Hospital with two in a serious condition and the third with moderate injuries. Family are with the victims at the hospital.
The Serious Crash Unit are investigating the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 5774300 or they can share information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
