Police are advising motorists to avoid travel on State Highway 1 north of Pukerua Bay due to a crash.
A car has crashed and flipped onto its roof on SH1 about 1km north of Pukerua Bay.
Due to the crash both lanes of the state highway are currently closed. Police expect to be in a position to open on lane shortly for northbound traffic to go around the crash site. Southbound traffic will be diverted over Paekakariki Hill Road.
Police suggest that motorists avoid any unnecessary travel in the area if possible and thanks those delayed by the crash for their patience.
