Oamaru Police are urging motorists to take care after a significant diesel spill along the main road in Oamaru (State Highway One) which is mainly affecting north-bound traffic.
Due to the wet weather, the diesel has spread further on the road and may be a hazard to motorists, especially as the traffic flow is heavy at present.
Currently, the road is not closed, but motorists may experience some delays.
