Emergency services were alerted to a serious crash on SH1 Main South Road between the intersection of Curraghs Road and Weedons Ross Road at 3.55pm today (1 December 2014).
Initial reports are that a car and pedestrian have collided.
Police and emergency services are at the scene and SH1 has been closed and diversions are in place.
There are likely to be significant delays in the area and Police ask the public to find alternative routes home that avoid SH1 near the crash scene.
A further update will be provided later on today.
