Police can confirm a male pedestrian is currently being airlifted to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition after a crash on State Highway 6 south of Lumsden.
The female driver of the vehicle is currently being assessed on the scene by emergency service personnel.
The road remains closed so police can begin a serious crash investigation, however detours have been put in place.
