Emergency services were alerted to a serious crash on Lineside Road near the intersection with Fernside Road at approximately 1.22pm today (8 December 2014).
Initial reports are that three vehicles (a car, a 4x4 vehicle and a truck) have collided. The drivers of the two cars are reported to be seriously injured and will be taken to Christchurch Hospital by helicopter. The driver of the truck is reported to have minor injuries and is still being assessed at the scene.
Police and emergency services are at the scene.
Diversions are in place on Lineside Road between Mulcocks Road and Marsh Road and Fernside Road between Flaxton Road and Lineside Road.
There will be delays while diversions are in place and Police ask the public to find alternative routes that avoid the area.
