Nelson Police are asking for witnesses to come forward following a crash on the Moutere Highway in Appleby.
At about 2:10pm this afternoon (Sunday 15 May) there was a serious crash involving a 59-year-old female riding a motorcycle.
The woman is in a serious condition in Nelson Hospital.
Witnesses to the crash state that the motorcycle was travelling behind a vehicle. The vehicle slowed to make a turn and the rider has crashed into the rear end of the vehicle.
Anybody else who witnessed the crash is asked to call Nelson Police on 03 546 3840.
