Canterbury Police Search and Rescue teams are continuing their search for 64 year old Pita (Peter) TANGIRA who was last seen at approximately 6pm last night (6 November 2014) at Brookhaven Rest Home in Ferrymead.
Police understand that Mr TANGIRA is a type 2 diabetic and while he is not reliant on medication he is at risk of going hypoglycaemic if he does not eat. He is fit and enjoys walking so could be anywhere in the Christchurch area or adjacent suburbs/townships.

It is not known where Mr TANGIRA is heading but he suffers from dementia and may be confused or disorientated.
Police ask residents and business to check their properties, out buildings and gardens to see if Mr TANGIRA is there.
Police and Mr TANGIRA’s family have concerns for his wellbeing and ask anyone who has seen him to contact Christchurch Police urgently by calling 03 363 7670.
