Police are appealing for any witnesses to yesterday’s stabbing incident in Auckland’s CBD to come forward.
Emergency services were called to an altercation between two groups of people on Federal Street shortly after 4pm, where a man had allegedly been stabbed with a glass bottle.
He was transported to hospital and has since undergone surgery and is recovering.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kathryn Bostock says two men are assisting Police with enquiries, however the investigation is ongoing.
“This is an area with a lot of people out and about and we’d like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or anyone who filmed it on their phone. We urge you to contact Auckland Police.”
No charges have been laid at this stage.
Media note: We have had a number of requests asking to identify those involved, Police are not in a position to do so because of privacy reasons. A further update will be provided once more information becomes available.
