Police Ten 7 viewers asked to help with Wainuiomata homicide mystery

Hutt Valley Police investigating the homicide of Wainuiomata builder Paul Te Hiko at his home six weeks ago are hoping Police Ten 7 viewers will tonight respond to renewed pleas for help with information.

Mr Te Hiko was found by associates shortly before 11pm on 7 March outside his home and martial arts dojo in Jack Vaughan Grove, off the northern end of Wise Street.  The area is part of a new residential building development.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Sears, in charge of the homicide investigation, says Mr Te Hiko had been shot.  By the time emergency services arrived the father of one had tragically died.

“We’ve made extensive inquiries in an effort to find out how and why Paul died, and who is responsible,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Sears.  “Someone knows something about what happened that night and we need to hear about it.

“We want this investigation resolved to give some closure for the Te Hiko whanau.”

Watch Police Ten 7 at 7.30pm, TVNZ 2, tonight on Thursday 19 April and see how you can help.
