Police can confirm they were today notified of threats against three Christchurch WINZ offices - Hornby, Linwood and Sydenham.
The threats were made by phone, by two separate individuals.
Police have investigated and do not believe there was any substance to the threats, and no risk to the WINZ staff or customers.
Police will continue to treat all similar calls for service from WINZ and other Government departments with urgency and we are committed to maintaining the safety of these staff. ENDS Issued by Police Media Centre.
