Police respond to reports of gunshots in Invercargill

Invercargill Police are responding after reports of gunshots being heard at 9.15am this morning in Kelvin Street. 
 
One person has been injured and is being transported to hospital. The nature of the person’s injuries are yet to be confirmed.
 
There are cordons in place in the area as Police work to establish exactly what has occurred.
 
The Armed Offenders Squad has been called out as a precautionary measure. 
 
At this stage there is no further information available but we will provide an update as soon as we can.
