Cordons have now been lifted on the Kopu-Hikuai Road after police attended an incident earlier today.
Police were first alerted to the incident at 2.10pm today after we received reports that a male had allegedly fired a number of shots at a house bus in relation to a domestic situation.
Police responded accordingly with the deployment of the Armed Offenders Squad and the Eagle helicopter in search of the male.
At 6pm, the male had not been located and police lifted the cordons in the area.
Police staff are continuing to try to locate the male and do not believe he poses any risk to the wider community.
