Police can confirm that they are attending an incident in central Palmerston North which involves groups of men fighting.
One man has been taken to Palmerston North Hospital with an injury to his chest, but is in a moderate condition. No other injuries have been reported yet.
Armed police are currently in the area working to resolve the situation.
