Police are appealing for information following an incident in Manukau this afternoon.
Police were responding to a complaint about a large number of window washers at the intersection of Cavendish Drive and Te Irirangi Drive about 3pm when a smoke canister was thrown onto the road.
One officer was taken to Middlemore Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, and is in a stable condition.
