Police investigating the death of Samiuela Anania Tupou have arrested and charged two people with his murder.
Police launched a homicide investigation after the 21-year-old died at Seaside Park, Otahuhu, in the early hours of May 25th, 2019.
A 25-year-old man and a 27-year-old man will appear in the Manukau District Court today charged with murder.
Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Hassall says a team of investigators have been working tirelessly to investigate the circumstances around Samiuela’s death, and give his family some answers.
Police have been working with his family, and continue to support them.
“We feel for his family who have been going through an extremely difficult time since his passing, and while we acknowledge this result will not bring him back, we hope it may be able to bring some form of comfort to his family and friends.”
As the matter is before the Court, Police are not in a position to comment further.
