Palmerston North Police are investigating a serious sexual attack which occurred in the suburb of Highbury overnight.
A victim was attacked by a group of three or more men and subjected to a sexual assault at around midnight.
She sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Police are this morning examining two scenes, one of which has been guarded overnight, and speaking to a number of witnesses who have been in contact with the victim in the hours leading up to the attack.
