Police investigating incident

1 min read

Attribute to National Manager Response and operations, Superintendent Chris Scahill:

Police are investigating an incident where a staff member’s loaded Glock firearm was accidentally left in a bathroom at Parliament briefly yesterday.

As soon as Police were made aware that the firearm had been left in the bathroom, staff attended and recovered it from the occupant, and we would like to thank them for their assistance.

This was a regrettable incident that we are taking seriously, and we acknowledge the potential risk that this could have posed.

Police have begun an investigation into the incident and have nothing further to add at this stage.
