Western Waikato Police say a number of inquiries currently underway will hopefully provide clarity in relation to an unexplained death of a woman in the rural settlement of Meremere this morning.
Area Investigations Manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead, said emergency services were called to an address in Meremere shortly after 7am.
“On arrival Police staff found a 29-year-old woman deceased and we’re currently working to establish the circumstances associated with her passing.
“Our inquiries will involve a number of forensic examinations of the scene, a canvas of local residents and a post-mortem examination which will help us determine how this matter will be progressed. The woman’s death has been reported to the Coroner.”
