Police are investigating an attack on a woman that took place in Riccarton early this morning.
The incident occurred on Wharenui Road near Puna Street, between 3-3:30am.
A female victim was approached by an unknown offender who grabbed her and attempted to pull her into a bush nearby.
The victim hit the offender in the face with her cell-phone before she ran from the scene.
This may have caused some injuries to the offenders head/face.
