Police and emergency services are currently responding to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 1 at Kaiwaka, where a truck has collided with a car.
One person has died at the scene.
The crash occurred just after 3.30pm and further details are not yet confirmed, however diversions are being put in place and motorists can expect delays.
The Serious Crash unit will also be attending to conduct a scene examination.
Traffic is being diverted from State Highway One in both directions via Mangawhai. That is down the Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road, down Insley Street, and then back out to State Highway One via Mangawhai Road.
