Police and emergency services are currently attending a two-vehicle crash that occurred at around 1:30pm on State Highway One, just north of Otaki today.
It is unknown at this stage how many people were in each vehicle; however one person from one of the vehicles has died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is also at the scene and Police urge motorists to take care if travelling in the area as diversions have been put in place.
South-bound traffic is being diverted onto South Manukau Road and north-bound traffic is diverted onto Waitohu Valley Road.
It is unknown at this stage how long the diversions will last.
