At about 4.30pm yesterday police received a report of persons stranded in a 4WD in the Rock and Pillar range, Central Otago.
The group which had called for help were unable continue after their 4WD vehicle had become stuck.
Dunedin police and the Dunedin four wheel drive club entered the Rock and Pillar range from Pateoroa and were successful in locating and assisting the stranded motorists.
