Canterbury Police are appealing for witnesses to two robberies at the Union Street Dairy on 4 April 2015 and 6 May 2015.
On 6 May 2015 at approximately 6.45pm a man wearing a ‘joker’ type mask is reported to have demanded money from the Dairy staff before fleeing on foot, empty handed. The man is described as 172cm tall, slim to medium build, in his 20’s and was wearing a burgundy hoodie, black trousers and grey beanie over a rubber/plastic ‘joker’ mask.
This follows a similar incident on 4 April 2015 where shortly after 12 noon a person of above average height wearing a fluoro orange sweatshirt and a distinctive cartoon mask demanded money and fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
No one was injured in either incident but Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the people in the CCTV photographs or witnessed anyone fleeing the Dairy after the incidents.
Canterbury Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing. It is too early in the investigations to confirm whether or not the incidents are linked.
