Car used in aggravated robbery of BNZ Wairau Park - October 24

At around 10.40am this morning an armed man entered the Wairau Park BNZ branch on Link Drive, Wairau Park. (Image attached)

He pointed a gun at staff members and demanded money.

He then ran from the bank with an undisclosed sum of money, into a waiting blue Subaru Impreza (image attached.) The car left at high speed and was found abandoned less than a kilometre away on Athena Drive, Totara Vale.

No-one was injured in the robbery and there was only one customer in the store at the time.

The offender was wearing a black puffer jacket with the hood up, and a white mask over his face (image attached).

The car was stolen from South Auckland several days ago and Police investigating the aggravated robbery are appealing for anyone who may have seen it to contact them.

"The car is reasonably distinctive, it's a modified Blue Subaru Impreza with a bonnet that has been painted matte black with white spoke mags" says Detective Sergeant James Watson, North Shore Police.

"We'd especially like to hear from anyone who saw this car in the Link Drive/Tötara Vale area. This was a frightening experience for everyone involved, and we want to catch these people as soon as possible" says Det Sgt Watson.

Anyone with information is asked to call the North Shore Police on 09 477 5000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
